Partnership/Capital Advisor, Richard Barno

Mr. Barno is a Capital Advisor and Technology Entrepreneur, and former Executive at Xerox Corporation, IBM, and Institutional Portfolio Manager at UBS Paine Webber.  He has advised many Fortune 500 companies including Centel, Hartford Group, Apple Computer, IBM, Microsoft, Boeing, and for the Government of Canada. 

He founded Press Access ( acquired by Lexis-Nexis) and MediaMap (acquired by Observer AB of Stockholm).  MediaMap was listed on Inc. Magazine’s Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in the USA, and Boston’s 50 Best Companies to Work For. 

Mr. Barno is a past Director of the Marine Biology Lab at Woods Hole, Courageous Sailing Center, Boston Businesses for Charity, the Judge Baker School, the Jakarta International School, and the International School of Tanganyika.  He was Chairman of the Bartlett School, and a key fundraiser for Children’s Hospital Cancer Research Center

Mr. Barno is a graduate of Harvard University, Kent University and Kalamazoo College, and was a guest lecturer at the Sloan School of Management at MIT.  Mr. Barno is a former championship golfer, competitive offshore sailor, pilot and fly fisherman, and is active in community service and philanthropic activities.
